Optimum Nutrition’s HMB Capsules are produced and packaged in our own state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Each capsule provides 1000 mg (1 g) of pure beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate (HMB).

Research published in the Journal of Applied Physiology and other peer reviewed publications has suggested that HMB may have an effect on increasing muscle weight and strength. Beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate (HMB) is an important metabolite of the essential branched chain amino acid (BCAA) L-Leucine. Human and animal studies suggest that HMB inhibits the breakdown of protein in muscle tissue and support significant increases in muscle strength and size when combined with intense resistance training. Supplementation with HMB has been shown to increase gains in muscle size, muscle strength, lean body mass, reduce skeletal muscle damage, and speed recovery from exercise.
